Upon arrival three distinct levels all of which provide a hot atmosphere separate this club. Looking above the main floor lays a small and cozy atmosphere where few VIP tables come together yet also provide a little privacy. Looking below the main floor a room no larger than a bedroom provides a great place to chat and get a drink. However, the main floor is where everything gets heated up. From dancing to drinking to mingling, this bar is a must see.

This place may be one of the greatest dive bars in all of San Diego. If you are looking for a beach bar where tee shirts and flip-flops are a golden outfit, this is a great place to let it all hang out. Located in Mission Beach, sand, surfing and The Pennant bring this small town together.

This may perhaps be a rival to The Pennant as they both try for “The Best Dive Bar” title throughout many reviews. Known for a great atmosphere, good beer and burgers, it is a good thing The Waterfront is located in Little Italy rather than in Mission Beach. For this helps to contain the rivalry between the two fabulous dive bars San Diego has come to know and love.

Flicks is a hip video bar utilizing large video screens that play music videos that interact with the songs playing throughout the club. Many nights are popular with the gay community like the Dating Game on Monday nights with local personality and community leader Nicole. Then there is Wednesdays with $1 well drinks and South Park which attracts some of Hillcrest's hottest crowds. Flicks' goal is to ensure that everybody feels welcome and has an enjoyable time.
